Arnos Vale Cemetery Wedding Photography, Bristol, Somerset

As primarily a Dorset Wedding Photographer when I have enquiries come in for the surrounding counties it's super exciting as it means that more than likely it'll be a new venue which I've not been to before. And this was the case when Jenny & Andy got in touch for their Arnos Vale Cemetery wedding. When I first read their enquiry I actually thought it was spam, until I did a quick Instagram search and saw how beautiful the venue was!

Jenny & Andy booked my Daisy Package which gives you 6 hours coverage and Jenny really prioritised her bridal prep, so I met her and her bridesmaids at Arnos Manor Hotel which is perfectly placed next door to the cemetery. Jenny looked absolutely incredible! Her hair was done by the talented Robyn Occasion & Bridal Hair and make up was by the equally talented Harriet Gallon Make Up. After some snaps here I then took a short walk around to the venue to begin capturing guests and getting ready for the ceremony.

Fortunately the weather behaved pretty well, especially for an April wedding, besides a sprinkle of rain during the group photos; which meant the plans for an outside ceremony at The Underwood Centre. This was such a stunning location and so incredibly peaceful, a perfect place for a wedding ceremony.

After the ceremony the couple greeted guests and had their drinks reception, we were also able to capture their group photos during this time - as you can see below they were very willing to have some fun with these! The couple also chose to have a smores table by the firepit at The Underwood Centre and I felt this was such a perfect thing to have and really kept guests occupied during group and couple photos. Once the drizzle held off we were then able to capture their beautiful confetti moment before I stole the couple off for their first batch of couple photos. Personally I love to take each couple out for two sessions if your time and weather allow, I'd definitely recommend talking to your photographer about your timings to allow this. You'll find you'll be so busy with seeing so many people, this will be your key time throughout the day to have a moment together and take it all in.

When we turned from the couple photos it was then time for food, this was supplied by the wonderful Pickled Pumpkin who were lovely people who supplied such an amazing spread for a BBQ and dessert table. After food was finished it was time for speeches, I loved how relaxed Jenny & Andy opted for this moment. They both felt they're introverted people and having such a formal traditional moment wasn't for them, therefore they chose to have their speeches outside around the firepit which fit them perfectly!

By the time we got to the end of speeches it was time for everyone to take the walk back down to the Spielman Centre for the evening reception, myself, Jenny & And took this as their perfect time to have their last couple photos as it was now close to my departure time. I honestly found the grounds at the cemetery were so beautiful, and not quite like anything you'd expect, I'd highly recommend it for a venue within Bristol.

If you're in the progress of booking your wedding photographer I'd love to hear from you. I'm Dorset based, however I also cover the local surrounding counties within my package prices, as well as cover the rest of the UK & abroad. Do feel free to get in touch via my contact page.

"On the day Lucy was such a calming influence on me whilst I was getting ready and on the day takes photos in a relaxed way. We both really enjoyed the casual conversation whilst having our couples photos and it really helped us take our mind of any stress in the day, especially as we share loves for LOTR and Disney! We couldn't recommend her more!"
